Build reward-based training that works

Have a look inside our monthly membership, the Classroom:

Our membership: The Classroom is the ongoing learning space inside Reward Based Riding School.Follow a clear training pathway, join regular live teaching and Q&A sessions, and discover how thoughtful foundation skills develop into communication, groundwork, riding and gymnastic movement.
Whether you are completely new to reward-based training or have trained with positive reinforcement for years, The Classroom gives you structure, depth and a supportive place to continue learning.
Build the foundations. Understand the system. Keep developing.

Reward-based training can be both kind and systematic

Perhaps you have watched videos, taken courses and collected lots of useful exercises.....but still find yourself wondering:

  • What should I train first?
  • How do the different skills connect?
  • What do I do when the training becomes unclear?
  • How do I move from basic behaviours into groundwork and riding?
  • How do I support both emotional and physical balance?

The Classroom helps you see the larger training system.

Rather than jumping from one behaviour to another, you will learn how to build clear communication, create dependable foundation skills and make thoughtful training decisions for the horse in front of you.

Here is what current members of the Classroom say:

Start where you are

You do not need to rush through the material or keep up with the rest of the group.

New to reward-based training?

Begin with Pause and learn how to create calm, clear training around food.

You will develop practical skills in reinforcement delivery, setting up sessions, creating opt-in and opt-out communication and shaping useful foundation behaviours.

You will have a clear place to start and a pathway to follow.

Already experienced?

The Classroom offers much more than “more basics.”

You can explore:

  • the biomechanical details within foundation work
  • criteria, timing and reinforcement strategies
  • trainer mechanics and body placement
  • movement quality and gymnastic thinking
  • cue-building and communication
  • troubleshooting both common and more complex challenges
  • how foundation skills develop into groundwork and riding via our ad on modules

The foundations are not treated as a beginner level that you graduate from. They are the tools we return to whenever we need more clarity, balance or understanding.

The Classroom is for pony's and horse's alike. You don't have to sit on your horse to ride.

Who's teaching this?

It's us: Angelica and Do 🙂

And every now and then our invited speakers.

We’ve been teaching together for years. With different focus areas—Angelica coming from a background in dressage and Do specializing in husbandry and cooperative care—we complement each other in a way that brings depth and balance to our teaching.

What connects us is a shared philosophy: that emotional balance and relaxation aren’t something you add later—they’re the starting point. Whether we’re working on movement or medical training, we believe good training helps the horse feel better in both body and mind.

Frequently asked questions

I am completely new to reward-based training. Is The Classroom suitable for me?

Yes.

You can begin with Pause and follow the training pathway from the start. We explain both the underlying principles and the practical trainer skills you need.

You do not need previous clicker-training experience.

I have trained reward-based for many years. What can I learn?

A lot—and not just more basics.

The Classroom explores foundation behaviours with depth, including their behavioural and biomechanical aspects, trainer mechanics, criteria, timing, communication and movement quality.

You will also see how the foundations develop into more advanced groundwork and riding through live teaching, discussions and real training examples.

Specialist subjects are available separately as Standalone Training Modules, allowing you to choose the areas most relevant to you and your horse.

Do I receive individual feedback?

The Classroom includes general Q&A, training discussions and group learning from real examples.

We may select member videos or questions for teaching sessions when the subject is useful to the wider group.

Detailed individual video analysis, private instruction and personalised training plans are available separately through coaching.

Are the live sessions recorded?

Yes. Live lessons, Q&A sessions and guest lectures are recorded and added to The Classroom whenever recording is permitted.

How much time do I need?

There is no weekly deadline and you do not need to complete everything immediately.

You can follow the foundation pathway at your own pace and join the live teaching that is most relevant to you.

Even a small amount of thoughtful, regular practice can make a meaningful difference.

Do I need to ride?

No.

The foundation work begins from the ground and can support liberty work, in-hand training, husbandry, long reining and riding.

Riding is one possible position within the wider training system.

What happens to my Training Modules if I cancel?

Modules purchased at the reduced member price remain accessible while your Classroom membership is active.

If you cancel or pause your membership, module access pauses. Your access returns if you rejoin, and you will not need to purchase the modules again.

Can I buy a Training Module without joining The Classroom?

As of now it is not possible to buy these modules outside the Classroom.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes.
Note: Signing up for the yearly one means you cancel yearly. But you will have time to check it out in the trial weeks.

You can cancel your monthly membership at any time (no trial weeks).

Your Classroom and member-module access will remain available until the end of your current billing period.
